The South Downs National Park Authority has awarded South Coast GIS Ltd (SCGIS) a contract to provide GIS services for the next three years. SCGIS will provide on- site GIS services to all National Park staff and Members, including training in ESRI ArcGIS 10.

The SDNPA adopted the use of GIS at a very early stage and this new contract with SCGIS sees GIS expert services provided on-site at SDNPA offices.  Staff will be provided with a full GIS service and a programme of training designed to meet the varying needs of those wishing to acquire or develop GIS skills of their own.

The presence of SCGIS at SDNPA’s offices will increase staff access to spatial data and GIS, allowing them to make informed, evidence based decisions on issues relating to the South Downs National Park.
