Founder and director of SCGIS Limited, Paul holds a 1st-class BSc.(Hons) in Surveying & Mapping Sciences from NELP (UEL) and a PgDip. in Computing for Commerce & Industry from the OU. An 18-year career in the offshore survey business in roles as surveyor, software developer/analyst, project manager and GIS manager has involved him in a diverse range of projects around the world.
Paul brings to SCGIS skills in geomatics, GIS, software development and project management as well as knowledge of domains such as the marine environment, E&P, hydrography and communications. In addition to using his skills & experience on project activities, Paul applies them to developing relationships with clients, eliciting & documenting requirements to help ensure SCGIS delivers solutions that satisfy & surpass expectations.
Founder and director of SCGIS Limited, Peter is a Chartered Geologist with over thirty years of diversified experience in earth, environmental and marine sciences. He holds a PhD in Geology from Imperial College and a degree in Mining from the Camborne School of Mines.
His wide-ranging career encompasses supervisory positions in operating oil companies in the UK and Australia, teaching and carrying out research in universities in the UK and USA, and involvement in exploration and environmental projects worldwide from the Arctic to Australia. Peter brings a strong client/user perspective to SCGIS and experience in the application of GIS to integrated project management.
Kate has worked with GIS for over 20 years, in a variety of business areas. Her passion for GIS began in her BSc Geography and was consolidated through a PGDip in GIS. Since then Kate has worked in the energy, telecoms, environmental planning, regional government and defence sectors. Her roles have been wide ranging and include the management and provision of GIS services for a regional planning body and teaching and training GIS and cartography to soldiers in the MoD.
Kate's focus is primarily on the South Downs National Park where she project manages and delivers GIS & training services.
Myles is an experienced, Devon-based GIS technician with over 15 years of experience collaborating with SCGIS on a wide range of projects. He specialises in the compilation, analysis, and presentation of spatial data across both Esri's ArcGIS desktop and online products and Open Source platforms such as QGIS and PostGIS.
Myles holds a BSc in Environmental Science and an MSc in Natural Resource Management from Cranfield University, where he formalized his training in GIS and remote sensing. Combining his academic foundation with extensive hands-on project delivery, he has developed strong data analysis and spatial database troubleshooting skills. He is also a qualified Geography teacher with experience designing and delivering technical GIS training for colleagues.
Jamie's technical & artistic skills, which developed during his Art & Design diploma and Architecture degree, have been honed through years of work on digital design projects for a wide range of local and international clients. Since around 2000, these have been applied to great effect on a variety of mapping projects through the use of ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo and other geospatial software, including Open Source web-mapping developments.
Jamie regularly produces publication-quality promotional material (adverts & flyers) and exhibition posters & panels for SCGIS clients using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
